Terms of Service
Effective July 14, 2026
Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, connecting a Slack workspace, or otherwise using Meme the Situation, you agree to these terms. You must be able to enter a binding agreement and must have authority to connect any organization, brand, data source, or Slack workspace you provide.
The service
The service uses customer-provided brand context and requested situations to generate meme captions, rendered drafts, and related creative suggestions. Slack users may request drafts through the app’s Messages tab, the /meme command, or an explicit channel mention. Every draft remains subject to customer approval. The service does not autonomously publish approved drafts to social networks or other external destinations.
Your content and responsibilities
You retain your rights in content you submit. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, process, transmit, render, and display that content to operate and secure the service. You are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to use submitted brand materials, channel context, templates, captions, and any final published work.
You must not use the service to violate law, privacy, intellectual-property rights, platform rules, or another person’s rights; to create deceptive impersonation or unlawful harassment; to introduce malicious code; or to bypass security, rate, cost, tenant-isolation, approval, or usage controls.
AI output and human review
AI-generated output is probabilistic and may be incorrect, unfunny, biased, offensive, unsafe, or similar to existing material. Meme the Situation does not warrant that output is unique, accurate, lawful, or suitable for your audience. A person must review all output before use. Approval inside Slack records a creative decision; it is not an instruction for automatic external publication.
Slack integration
You authorize the app to use the Slack permissions shown during installation for the requested workflows. The app processes bounded Slack conversation context in real time when explicitly invoked and does not retain a duplicate Slack message transcript. Workspace administrators may uninstall the app at any time. Your use of Slack remains governed by your agreement with Slack.
Billing and cancellation
Paid access is billed through Stripe at the price and interval shown at checkout. Charges are generally non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated at purchase. You may cancel future renewal through the customer billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period unless otherwise stated. Taxes may apply. We may suspend access for failed payment, fraud, abuse, or a material breach of these terms.
Service changes and availability
We may improve, change, limit, or discontinue features and may impose reasonable usage and safety limits. We aim to operate a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Third-party services including Slack, Google Cloud, Render, Supabase, Stripe, and template sources may affect availability and functionality.
Confidentiality and privacy
Each party will use reasonable care to protect non-public confidential information received from the other and will use it only for the service relationship, subject to legal obligations. Our collection, use, retention, and deletion practices are described in the Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Meme the Situation will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or lost-profit damages. Aggregate liability arising from the service will not exceed the fees you paid for the service during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Termination
You may stop using the service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, security risk, unlawful conduct, non-payment, or harm to the service or others. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, and responsibility for published content—will survive.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the product or legal requirements change. Material changes will be dated here and, when appropriate, communicated through the service. Questions may be sent to hello@memethesituation.com.
